IELTS
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
It is designed to help you work, study or migrate to a country where English is the native language. This includes countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and USA.
Your ability to listen, read, write and speak in English will be assessed during the test. IELTS is graded on a scale of 1-9.
IELTS has two types
- IELTS Academic
- IELTS General Training
(Both tests assess your English language skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking)
Listening: Candidates listen to four recorded texts, speech and conversations by a scale of vernacular people and write their answers to a chain of questions.
Reading: This section comprises 40 questions. A variety of question types is used in order to test a wide range of reading skills.
Writing: Academic version of writing includes two tasks. Topics are suitable for anyone entering undergraduate or postgraduate studies or seeking professional registration.
Speaking: The Speaking component assesses the use of spoken English, and takes between 11 and 14 minutes to complete.
NOTE
- The Listening, Reading and Writing components are completed on the same
day, with no breaks.) - The speaking component can be completed up to a week before or after the
other tests. - The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
